Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Final-E
Why does Final-E need "Allow all the time" location access?
Final-E can start looking for available chargers when you get close to a saved destination. Android needs "Allow all the time" location access so this can work even when the app is closed, then Final-E can check nearby charger availability and notify you.
Here is what we want you to know:
- Android recognizes when you are near a saved destination. The app does not need to run a constant live map just to know whether you are close to a place you saved.
- We do not build a location history. Saved destinations are used to start the charger search you asked for; they are not a timeline of where you have been.
- Background location is only needed for arrival alerts. If you do not save an arrival alert for a destination, Android does not watch for that place.
- Location and charger data are used to provide the feature you requested. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.
If you prefer not to grant background location access, you can still use Final-E for charger browsing, favorite chargers, saved addresses, and busy-charger alerts. You just will not be able to use automatic arrival alerts.
What is Final-E?
Final-E is an Android EV charging companion with two main alert features: notify me once this busy charger is available, and notify me of available chargers when I get near my destination. Favorite chargers, saved addresses, and permanent arrival alerts keep the places you use often ready in the app.
How does it work?
For a busy charger, tap Notify me and Final-E checks that charger regularly until it becomes available. For a trip, save your destination; when you get close, the app starts checking chargers nearby and alerts you so you can drive there immediately.
Is Final-E free to use?
Final-E is free to download from Google Play. Core planning features such as favorite chargers and saved addresses are part of the app experience. The two alert features are busy-charger alerts and arrival charger alerts.
What platforms are supported?
Final-E is built for Android and distributed through Google Play. The web site explains the app and links you to the Play Store listing.
How do notifications work?
There are two alert types. Busy-charger alerts tell you when a specific occupied charger opens. Arrival alerts tell you when you are close to a saved destination and there are available chargers nearby. Android notification permissions must be enabled, and arrival alerts also require background location permission.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from profile settings in the app. If you have an active paid plan, we will stop it first. After deletion completes, your account, profile, saved chargers, saved addresses, alert settings, notifications, and app-owned subscription records are permanently deleted. Google Play or other payment providers may keep billing records under their own retention rules.
How is my data kept secure?
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections, secure database storage, and secure authentication through Google Sign-In. We never share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
How do I contact support?
If you have questions, issues, or feedback, you can reach us through the app. We appreciate practical feedback about busy-charger alerts, saved places, and arrival alerts because those workflows shape the product.
